Our Community Transport

For over 50 years, volunteers have been at the heart of EV Community Transport.  We rely on generous volunteers to drive Aged Care and NDIS clients who cannot take public transport. EV is providing over 180 trips a day - in a modern car fleet driven by safe, reliable drivers. Administrative volunteers help with booking, billing, errands and telephone support.  Thanks to all these great people and our office team, our clients feel supported and cared for as they travel to appointments and social events.

If you are looking for a meaningful way to ‘give back’ on your own terms, please call Cameron on (03) 9870 7822 and ask about our flexible roles.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS

All our drivers need is an unrestricted driving licence, a respectful, warm attitude, and a desire to help.

Once you’ve cleared Police and Working with Children checks, you will receive essential and ongoing training, and full office support while on the road.

You can drive our fleet cars (full working day) or your own car (half day, full day or stand-by) with allowances provided.

VOLUNTEER OFFICE SUPPORT

Running 180-200 trips a day takes a lot of organising!  All drivers and vehicles are scheduled in detail for the next day.  All drivers and clients are reconfirmed.  Bookings are made, bills are issued, problems are solved, and errands are run.

The office team is a busy, friendly, remarkable unit, valuably supported by volunteers.  Whatever you’re good at, or comfortable doing, we welcome you.
